Synopsis
Opposite is a documentary based on the journey of Shyamili, a transgender woman, who travels from Kannur to Tamil Nadu for the famous Koovagam festival where thousands of transgenders and devotees visit every year. The festival takes place at the Koothandavar Temple dedicated to God Iravan. This journey of Shyamili becomes a deep exploration of transgender spirituality which is depicted through the documentary mixing ideas of self, myth, redemption and counterculture.Details of Crew
