Synopsis: Jangarh Singh Shyam was a genius artist, belonging to the Gond pradhan tribe of storytellers from central India. Since his first appearance at the Pompidou Museum in Paris – his work has created a big buzz across art galleries all over the world. Jangarh experiments with different mediums – from simple ink drawings to ambitious large scale murals on iconic buildings. This documentary looks at the artist’s journey.
Director’s Bio: Nutan Manmohan is a known documentary filmmaker and series director. Her children’s series Zara Hat Ke got Best children’s program award in the Pinnacle TV awards of 1997. Her film A second Hand Life won the ‘Best Environment Film’ at Vatavaran 2005. Her film The Last Flight on vulture conservation got the ‘Wild Wing OBE’ award in the UK.
